I really love your poem! You have described a lively, inquisitive, fun-loving, thoughtful group that it would be fun to be a part of. It will be fun to get to know you through these blogging connections. I am the teacher for 6th graders at a pre-school through 8 school, but 6th grade is the first year of middle school for us. This is our first year of each student having their own laptop to use all day at school and we do quite of variety of different things with technology in our class. We use edmodo a lot this year and other things like animoto, prezi, imovie, and now our blogs of course. Check out of class blog and some of our individual blogs to see some examples!
Keep up the great work!

Hi,
Your poem is fantastic my school have also done a poem on our blog (penbank6.edublogs.org).
To answer the questions at the end our school goes up to grade six so I’m in my last year of primary school. (elementary school)
My school doesn’t do much homework but we have literature circle groups about the book we are reading -City of Ember. We also have a computer wensite called Spelling city where we learn the words for our spelling tests.
We use technology in classroom by each student from grade 4 to 6 having a laptop each.
Please check out my schools blog.
Thanks
Ruby

We attend a middle school that has grades 6 through 8.
Our wonderful CA teacher has us read every night! It really isn’t homework since we just love to do it! In Social Studies, we have soo much homework. There are some nights that it takes 2 hours to complete…I mean, really, we have an outside of school life…..hello!! We get homework from him every night! It is a small joy on those nights when we don’t have homework! For Science, we barely have homework! We do love the experiments that we do in class! Science rocks! (get it, rocks!)
For Math/Challenge Math, we get more homework then in Science.
Our Math class has a smart board….we don’t get to use it, but the teacher does. In Science, we use the palms….they are an “old” form of technology. We use them for drawing pictures and taking pictures. There is really no technology in CA….we have to go to a computer lab.
There are a few things that we do to help the community…we collect cans of food for people, we have done a penny war to raise money, and have planted flowers for a beautifcation project.
Good luck with the challenge!!

Hello Missouri!
Thanks for visiting our blog yesterday. We are also in the blogging challenge and my students visited several of your blogs today. We are also a 6th grade class located in southern Monterey County in California. We are a middle school and have approximately 700 students in grades 6-8 on our campus. We live in a kind of small town with 10,000 people.
My students see four teachers each day. They see me for ancient history and language arts. They see the teacher next door for math and science. For homework, we “flip” teach, meaning students prepare for a lesson at home the night before. Then, in class, we discuss the information and practice what we’ve learned. We us a lot of video for this that students watch at home.
Each student has a netbook that they can use while at school and we use Google Apps for a lot of our work. We also love to Skype and collaborate with other schools, so hopefully we can connect sometime soon:-)

*What do you do for homework?: For homework we only do math and some of the classwork that we didn’t finish.

You guys are lucky to have Ipads. I wish I had an Ipad but I have an Ipod. Do all of you have pets in your home? What’s your favorite basketball player? Do you think blogging is easy or hard? I really Like this poem!

Hello! I’m Ana Maria from Mr. Miller’s class. I have been blogging for about a year and it is pretty fun. I like your post and I love your blog. I know that you guys are using iPads, but we are using Netbooks. I love iPads, but personally I think Netbooks are better. Just saying! So now to the questions. We are in a middle school and our grades here are 6th 7th and 8th. We usually don’t get a lot of homework in Mr. Millers room, but our other teachers give us homework. We usually have one page per night. Our technology is usually on the Netbooks. I don’t help my community, but I help other communities. I am a volunteer for the Salvation Army and I do bell ringing with my grandpa for donations every Christmas. Thank you and hope you visit my blog! Bye.
